Every great badge starts with a conversation. Our complimentary consultation is an opportunity for us to learn about your department, its history, and your vision for the badge. During this session, you'll meet with your dedicated project manager and a concept designer—two professionals who will guide you through the entire process from start to finish.
Once the consultation is complete, a Smith & Warren team member will provide you with a detailed design and development cost quote.
We start with hand-drawn sketches based on your preferences and feedback. These initial sketches are intentionally simple, allowing for flexibility and refinement in the early stages. You'll review and provide input, ensuring we're on the right path before moving forward.
Once the concept is approved, we develop a polished, full-color version of your badge. This stage adds depth, incorporating colors, text styles, and finishes. The artwork not only serves as a visual reference for the final badge but can also be used for branding—on vehicles, uniforms, business cards, and more.
The approved illustration is then transformed into a high-resolution 3D digital model. This rendering provides a realistic preview, showcasing sculpted details and dimensionality. It ensures you can visualize the final product before we move into manufacturing.
Your badge design is laser-engraved into a custom steel die—this die serves as the foundation for all future badge production. It is meticulously crafted to capture every fine detail and is securely stored for your department’s exclusive use.
Using your custom die, Smith & Warren will manufacture two fully finished badge samples for your review. These samples allow you to see and feel the final product before full production begins.
