Responsible Use for Realistic Prop Badges
If your prop badge includes the name or design of a real law enforcement agency (or is realistic enough to be mistaken for one), we follow a set of verification steps to help ensure responsible use:
- You’ll need to provide a letter on production company letterhead stating:
“The badges being ordered will be used exclusively as costume props in the production of [name of production]. When no longer required, the badges will remain in the custody of [name of production company] or be destroyed.”
- If the badge includes the name of a real law enforcement agency, written permission from that agency is also required.
