What is an RFID blocker option for a badge wallet?
RFID Blocker refers to a thin, embedded material that helps prevent unauthorized scanning of credit, debit, or ID cards inside your wallet. It’s designed to block or scramble the radio frequency signals used in “tap” payments and access cards.
Why might you want it?
If you carry RFID-enabled cards (tap-to-pay or contactless IDs), an RFID blocker helps protect them from “skimming” devices that attempt to read card data remotely. If your cards don’t use RFID, the option is harmless but unnecessary.
How it works in our wallets
- The blocker is built into the lining or one of the inner layers of certain wallet models.
- It doesn’t noticeably change the thickness, flexibility, or appearance of the wallet.
- You won’t see it from the outside — it’s designed to be invisible in daily use.
Do I need an RFID blocker?
If your cards include contactless payment or access capabilities, it’s a low-cost layer of protection. But if your cards are fully magnetic, chip-based, or you don’t use the tap function, you can safely skip this feature.
